The choices you make every day shape your future, but I want to talk about something just as powerful—the people around you.

See, whether we like it or not, the people we spend the most time with influence us. They can push us toward success, or they can drag us into situations that wreck our chances. Some people bring out the best in us, make us feel safe, respected, and valued. Others? They make us doubt ourselves, pressure us to do things we don’t want to do, and take more from us than they ever give back.

And here’s the real kicker: Sometimes, we don’t even notice it happening.

Maybe it’s that friend who always gets you into trouble but says, “C’mon, you know I got your back.” Maybe it’s that person you think you have to impress, even if it means doing something you know isn’t right.
